Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Protected Designation of Origin (P.D.O.) Messara-Heraklion, Crete (the largest plain in Crete that spans from Southern parts of Heraklion prefecture, below the Psiloritis Mt.).

Produced by Koroneiki variety olive trees. Due to xeric conditions prevailing in the area of Messara in South Crete, the content of unsaturated fatty acids is increased amp; the nutritional value of this extra virgin olive oil is high.

PDO Definition:
PDO is a European Union designation. PDO products must be produced, processed and prepared in a specific region using traditional production methods. The raw materials must also be from the defined area. The quality or characteristics of the product must be due essentially or exclusively to its place or origin, i.e., climate, the nature of the soil and local know-how.

New dinosaur discoveries

A team of paleontologists from the UW and its Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture excavated four dinosaurs in northeastern Montana this summer. All fossils will be brought back to the Burke Museum where the public can watch paleontologists remove the surrounding rock in the fossil preparation laboratory.
